Testicular cancer is developed due to the abnormality in the growth of cells in the testicles. There are basically two types of testicular cancer, the seminoma and teratoma. Seminoma is made up of only one type of cell and is common to men ages 25 to 55, while teratoma constitutes of two or more kinds of cells and is developed in men who are 15 to 25 years old. There are also rare types of testicular cancer such as the non-Hudgkin's lymphoma, Sertoli and leydig tumors of the cells.
How do you determine if you have testicular cancer? The most obvious symptom of this disease is the swelling of the testicles. There could also be a heavy feeling in the scrotum, hydrocele (liquid inside the scrotum) and aching of the groin. Early symptoms of this disease include back ache, stomach ache, etc.
How do you develop testicular cancer? Unfortunately up to now there is still no clear answer to this question. However, experts are conducting endless researches to get to the bottom of this incomprehensible disease. Nevertheless, there are some factors of testicular cancer that doctors are quite sure of such as race. White men are more prone to testicular cancer than Africans and Asians. The most peculiar factor in this disease is that it is more common in men who belong to the wealthy class of society. This is already established fact, though the reason for this is still unknown. Treatments that are available for testicular cancer are surgery, radio therapy and chemmotherapy.
